Sagar S (music director)
Sagar S is a Noted Indian Music Director and a Kannada lyricist. He has composed Music and Penned Lyrics for many jingles, albums, daily soaps, films, stage plays, dramas etc. He has not only written for his own songs but has also written for other music directors as well.
Early life
Sagar was born in Mysore on March 14. He entered the Industry to become a lyricist and also ended up being a music director and a script writer as well. Sagar stayed in Mysore earlier and now he, along with his family is settled in Bengaluru.
Career
Sagar has never worked under a music director to become a lyricist or a music composer. He entered the Industry as an Independent and a solo Lyricist and a music director. He has the credit of Introducing many new singers as well as lyricists to the Industry.
Lyricist
- He wrote his first two songs in 2000 for the album 'Artha' by Music Composer, Producer and Politician Late Shankar.
- He has also written songs for many Skits and Plays.
- He has written songs for daily soaps such as Chanda Mama Baaro, Sandhya and many more
- He has written more than 250 songs for albums and Plays.
- He is known for his versatility in penning songs. He has composed lyrics for all kinds of music including Romantic songs, Folk songs, Devotional Songs, Bhaava Geethas, Fast numbers etc.
- He has written songs for Various movies for his own compositions as well as for different music directors. He has also written songs for films such as Saviganasu, Encounter, The Guiness and the Limka book of record movie Police Story 3 (2011 film), Neenendare Nannolage, Saraaga etc in his own music and films like Swantha, Sandeepa for other music directors.
- He conducts various workshops and coaching classes regarding the techniques of Composing Lyrics.

- He has composed songs for many shows that includes 'Kannada Tele Awards Theme song'.
- He has composed songs for various Skits, Plays and Stage Shows.
- He has also composed songs for a few serials including Suresh Kumar's Sanjeevini.
- He has composed songs for different kinds of various Jingles.
- The main highlight of his recently released movie Police Story 3 was his music composition.
- He has also composed music for various short films and a few feature films.
- He has also orchestrated for many projects for other composers as well.
- He has given background scores for various short films and serials.
- He has organized many fests and musical programs till date.
Jingles And Albums
- He has written and composed many Jingles for Snehaloka Cricket Team, Shree Sai Gold Palace, Arcade Silks And Sarees, SJP Services, D N F Private Limited, Sanjeev Constructions etc.
- He has written and composed for many albums such as Sampreethi, Deva Namana, Shubhodaya, Dhamani Dhamaniyalu Kannada, Deva Raaga and many more.

- His albums such as Shubhodaya (A Naada Geethe Album), Raga-Tala and a few more.
- His Yet to release Jingles are for Kannada magazine Chithara, Vishnuvardhan's Snehaloka Cricket Team,Shree Sai Gold Palace and a few more.
- He has also written and composed a song 'Karunaada' for Samaya Channel about Kannada and Karnataka in which 30 singers for the first time in the history have lent their voices. Actors Tara, Anirudh, Naveen Krishna, Sunil Rao and many more have also lent their voices for the song.
Other Activities
- He is a part of an event management NGO 'Prakruthi',that believes in working towards a greener INDIA by bringing people out of their self-centric hibernation into its lush green parks. Prakruthi also believes in working towards creating awareness among people about the Kannada literature and the culture of Karnataka through music. It organizes musical programs all over the state.
- He is a part of Super Star Vishnuvardhan (actor)|Vishnuvardhan's 'Snehaloka Cricket Team'(SCT). The SCT that includes many celebrities such as Bharathi Vishnuvardhan (actor and present President of SCT), Anirudh Jathkar (Actor), Shobaraj (Actor), Avinash (Actor), K S Shivaram (Actor) and many more celebrities organizes many Cricket matches for charity and also does a lot of social service.

- He has been awarded the 'KALA JEEVE AWARD' in 2008.
- He has been felicitated many times by many organizations such as Ranga Mandir Organization and many more.
- He has been awarded the 'Roopakala Belli Kanmani Award' as a 'Naada shreshta Kalavida' by the 'Roopakala Utsava-25' linked with the Karnataka State in the year 2011
Through Different Generations
Almost all Kannada lead singers of different generations have sung under Sagar's music direction. The musical legendary singers B Jayashree, B R Chaya and the later generation of Shashidhar Kote, Faiyaz Khan, Sangeetha Katti, Vijay Prakash (Of Jai Ho Fame), M.D.Pallavi Arun, Praveen D Rao, Archana Udupa, Rajesh Krishnan, Ajay warrier, Divya Raghavan, Vani Harikrishna and the new generation singers like Chaitra H.G., Anuradha Bhat, Riteesha Padmanabh, Lakshmi Nataraj and many more have worked with composer Sagar. Actors Anirudh, Tara, Naveen Krishna, Sunil Rao, Kunigal Nagabhushan, Director T. S. Nagabharana, Music Director Mano Murthy and others have done many voice overs for various projects of the Music director.
